Buried in the history of lapidary, the cutting and polishing of stones, precious and otherwise, someone developed a method to create a round shape. Can only imagine the great effort and time it took to achieve a three-dimensional ball shape using the most rudimentary of tools, as making a sphere from rock with today's technology is still a challenging and time-consuming project. Texas Rock Shop turns a sphere now and then in our lapidary shop; however, most of the spheres featured on this page are produced by other lapidary artisans.
