Specimens of acid washed Blue Calcite, ready for a rock garden or the coffee table. Calcite is a common mineral, second only to quartz, forming in all types of occurrences with all classes of rock: igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic, and occurring in many colors. As a result, there are hundreds of forms and combinations of calcite. This massive Blue Calcite originates in Guanajuato, Mexico. Because it is acid washed, it is not suitable as a lapidary rock.
