Unpolished rough rock specimens of Petrified Palmwood, ready for a rock saw or a rock garden. This multicolored silicified wood, genus Palmoxylon, from the Oligocene Epoch, 30 million years ago, is plentiful in many areas of Texas and Louisiana, resulting in it being designated both the State Stone of Texas and the State Stone of Louisiana.
