Unpolished rough rock specimens of Nephrite Jade ready for cutting, shaping, and polishing. There are two jades: jadeite jade, from the pyroxene group, and nephrite jade, from the amphibole group. Both contain microcrystalline, fine-grained, interlocking or "matted" crystals and occur in a variety of colors, but Nephrite is the more common of the two and is usually a spinach green. It is found in many locations, including Wyoming, Alaska, and Canada.
