Ammonites are cephalopods, a large, extinct group of marine animals that lived in the Paleozoic Era and Mesozoic Era, ranging from 400 million to 65 million years ago. There are abundant and diverse species of ammonites. This selection of fossil ammonites come from Mexico, Morocco, and Madagascar.

Orthoceras are nautiloids, marine cephalopods that possessed a shell. Abundant during the Paleozoic Era 400 million years ago (mya), they are ancestors to the modern-day squid, octopus, and cuttlefish. Orthoceras fossils have been found on many continents. The orthoceras invertebrate fossils photographed below are from Morocco, North Africa, and date from the Devonian Period (395 - 345 mya).
